In a remarkable demonstration of communal solidarity and grassroots determination, the people of Egbema communities have commenced the rehabilitation of the long-neglected Udo–Ofunama road through a collective self-help initiative after more than a decade of infrastructural abandonment.
The ongoing intervention, which has already attracted the deployment of graders and other heavy earth-moving equipment, is being initiated and supervised by the Chairman of the Ofunama Federated Communities, with strong financial and logistical support from Egbema communities and their tenants.
As at the time of filing this report, credible sources on ground confirm that intensive rehabilitation work is actively ongoing along the road corridor, with the current Chairman of Ofunama Community personally present to supervise and coordinate the execution of the project.
A Road Left to Decay
