OPUAMA COMMUNITY ANNOUNCES 11TH OLODUWA CULTURAL DAY CELEBRATION

Opuama, Warri North, Delta State — The peace-loving people of Opuama Town in the historic Egbema Kingdom have officially announced preparations for the 11th Oloduwa Cultural Day Celebration, a cultural festival that has become a symbol of identity, unity, and ancestral pride for the entire bloc of federal communities.

According to the announcement released by the organizers, the festival will be held from Friday 12th to Saturday 13th December 2025, at the Opuama Town Square, beginning daily at 10:00 a.m. GMT.

Widely regarded as one of the most vibrant cultural events in Egbema land, the Oloduwa Cultural Day Celebration attracts visitors from across Delta State, Bayelsa, and beyond, offering participants a rare display of indigenous cultural heritage, traditional spirituality, and communal celebrations.

A FESTIVAL OF TRADITION, UNITY & COMMUNITY PRIDE

Over the years, the Oloduwa Celebration has evolved into an important cultural calendar event, promoting peace-building initiatives, youth engagement, and the preservation of age-old traditions. The organizers describe this year’s edition as “a festival dedicated to strengthening our communal bonds while honoring the cultural roots of Opuama and the entire Egbema nation.”

The 2025 programme will feature interdenominational prayers, cultural dance troupes, a novelty football match, and live musical performances from some of the region’s most respected cultural entertainers.

PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

FRIDAY, 12TH DECEMBER 2025

11:00 a.m. — Interdenominational Prayers
The opening ceremony will begin with a joint Christian prayer session, seeking divine guidance and unity for Opuama and Egbema Kingdom.

Immediately after:
Cultural Dance Parade
Various cultural groups from within and outside the community will display traditional dances, attire, and symbolic art forms.

4:00 p.m. — Novelty Football Match
A friendly football match will be staged to promote youth fitness, togetherness, and sporting fellowship.

8:00 p.m. — Music & Entertainment
The legendary cultural icon Pere-Ama and His Royal Band will headline the evening performance, delivering music deeply rooted in Izon tradition.

SATURDAY, 13TH DECEMBER 2025

2:00 p.m. — Bayelsa Cultural Group Display
The cultural bridge between Delta and Bayelsa will be showcased through traditional instruments, dance steps, and ancestral expressions.

Cultural Showcase:
Live storytelling performance by FC the Story Teller, alongside other invited cultural groups.

Commissioning of Projects
Selected community projects will be commissioned as a testament to development initiatives inspired by unity and local leadership.

Musical Performance:
The day will close with a live performance by J-King Alfred Izon-Ebi and His ‘Because of Love’ Crew, bringing rhythm, poetry, and joy to the atmosphere.
