HIGH CHIEF MOLOS FLAGS OFF SOCIAL WELFARE PROGRAMME FOR THE AGED IN ESE-ODO
Igbekebo, Ese-Odo LGA — In a landmark move to support elderly citizens at the grassroots, the Executive Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, High Chief Caleb Ebimobowei Molos, has officially launched a comprehensive social welfare programme designed to provide direct financial assistance to aged residents within the Council.
The flag-off ceremony took place today at the Civic Centre in Igbekebo, covering the Apoi axis of the local government, where beneficiaries received payments totaling ₦60,000 each, representing three months of welfare support. In total, 188 elderly beneficiaries received their funds as bank credit alerts, while others received cash payments at the venue.
According to the Chairman, the programme continues tomorrow, 10th December 2025, at the Riverfront Hotel in Agadagba-Obon—where beneficiaries from the Arogbo axis will receive identical payments. Those already enrolled through bank accounts have equally received three-month alerts of ₦60,000, while registered beneficiaries without bank accounts will be paid in cash at the designated centre.

Governor Aiyedatiwa Acknowledged for Grassroots Impact
In his address, High Chief Molos expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the privilege to serve, while paying special tribute to the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for initiating this welfare intervention across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State.
He described the programme as “a relief to our aged mothers and fathers,” emphasizing that good governance must reflect in the lives of vulnerable citizens. He further called on residents of Ese-Odo to support and pray for Governor Aiyedatiwa, noting that continued peaceful cooperation will enable the government to sustain democratic dividends at the grassroots level.

Speaking on the long-term vision, High Chief Molos confirmed that the welfare programme is not a one-off intervention. The initiative has been designed to continue systematically, ensuring ongoing support for elderly men and women who have contributed to the growth of Ese-Odo through decades of stewardship and community leadership.
The programme represents a major milestone in grassroots governance—prioritizing compassion, social protection, and dignity for the elderly population.
