Among the Ijaw nation, our dialects tell the story of who we are, where we come from, and how our ancestors lived, thought, and prayed. Yet, over time, the spoken beauty of our tongues — from Egbema, Okrika, Gbaramatu, Ogbe-Ijoh, Nembe, Apoi, Akassa, Kolokuma, and others — has begun to fade in the face of modern pressures and neglect.
It is time to rise and reclaim the pride of our language heritage!
