In a passionate and cautionary message to Nigeria’s leadership, the revered General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to confront Nigeria’s worsening insecurity with decisive urgency, spiritual wisdom, and diplomatic tact—especially amid growing international concerns expressed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The call came during the November Holy Ghost Service themed “The Eve of Glory” at the RCCG Camp, where Adeboye spoke soberly about the sanctity of human life and the dire need for immediate action.

According to Adeboye, the nation is at a critical crossroad and can no longer afford to treat terrorism and banditry with levity or political delay. He appealed to President Tinubu to issue a 90-day ultimatum to all security chiefs—to eradicate terrorism or resign from office.
“If I were asked to make suggestions,” he said, “I would tell our government: move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely. Convince the President of America to delay his actions for about 100 days. Then come home and tell our security chiefs to get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign.”
Adeboye stressed that his counsel is born out of years of private engagement with successive Nigerian leaders, noting that while he does not wield executive power, his responsibility as a spiritual leader is to speak truth in love.
“Whatever I discussed with them privately, I did my best behind the scenes. But you can only advise the Commander-in-Chief — you can’t command him,” he said reflectively.

Adeboye recalled a similar piece of advice he once gave to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, who acted on the recommendation but failed to sustain the momentum.
“There was a president — unfortunately, he’s dead now — Buhari, who issued such an order. He is not here to tell you who gave him that advice. He acted on it but didn’t follow through. Three months passed, and the work was not done,” Adeboye disclosed, lamenting that the window of national security success was lost to inconsistency.

The cleric also warned against complacency on the diplomatic front, hinting at the growing impatience of world powers concerning Nigeria’s security failures.
“When I say our leaders should move fast, diplomatically, and wisely, it’s because if America attacks us, China, Russia, and other world powers will condemn it strongly but that’s all they’ll do. Britain won’t come to help us. No foreign power will,” he cautioned.
Adeboye’s message echoed a deep concern that foreign intervention might worsen Nigeria’s fragile state, urging President Tinubu to seize this moment to restore internal security credibility and rebuild the world’s confidence in Nigeria’s leadership.

Beyond the battlefield, Pastor Adeboye demanded transparency and justice in dealing with those funding and enabling terrorism. He charged the government to “expose and prosecute the sponsors of terror — no matter how powerful they are.”

“This is not the time for jokes, grammar, or arguments. It’s not about Christians or Muslims — innocent people are dying,” Adeboye said firmly, his tone both pastoral and prophetic.
