Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo Cries Out as Fulani Bandits Allegedly Kidnap and Rape Christian Girls in Plateau Hospital Attack

— Dr. Odimientimi Agbedeyi Reports

In what has been described as one of the most heartbreaking and inhumane attacks on innocent lives in Plateau State, a chilling video has emerged online showing the ordeal of several young Christian girls who were kidnapped and brutally raped by armed Fulani bandits. The distressing revelation was made by Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, the outspoken Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

According to Rev. Dachomo, the horrifying incident occurred on the night of Saturday, October 17th, when a group of heavily armed Fulani militants invaded a local hospital, shooting sporadically and causing panic among patients and staff. The attackers, wielding AK-47 rifles, swords, and machetes, reportedly abducted several girls who were either receiving treatment or caring for their sick relatives.

In a video posted on his Facebook page, Rev. Dachomo narrated the ordeal with visible pain and anger, describing the invasion as a “blueprint to annihilate Christians” in the Middle Belt region. He said the attackers carefully isolated the Christian girls from their Muslim counterparts before dragging them into the nearby rocky terrain, where they were gang-raped at gunpoint for over eight hours.

“They didn’t touch their fellow members of Islam,” Rev. Dachomo lamented. “They isolated our Christian girls and raped them for more than eight hours. The girls were left in unimaginable pain, crying for help in the middle of the night.”

One of the victims, who was seen in the video speaking with the clergy, recounted the trauma they suffered. She revealed how the assailants humiliated them, beat them, and left them to die in the cold night after subjecting them to repeated assault. Some of the victims, she said, managed to crawl back to the hospital around midnight, bleeding and screaming for help.

Medical staff, shocked by the condition of the girls, immediately rushed them into emergency care, providing critical treatment to save their lives. The harrowing experience, according to Rev. Dachomo, reflects the deep-rooted religious violence and systemic persecution faced by Christians in parts of northern Nigeria.

He added that the same group of militants had also kidnapped the wife of Reverend Zephaniah Mangut on the same day, describing the coordinated attacks as part of a targeted jihadist campaign against Christians in the state.

“This is the life of a Christian in Nigeria,” Rev. Dachomo declared sorrowfully. “We are hunted, we are raped, we are killed, and yet the world remains silent.”

The incident has once again stirred national outrage, with human rights groups calling for urgent government intervention and justice for the victims. Many Nigerians have expressed shock that such atrocities could take place within a hospital—an institution meant to preserve life and provide healing.

Observers fear that unless the federal and state authorities act decisively, the Plateau region may continue to witness cyclical violence that threatens its fragile peace. Religious leaders and community advocates have also urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to prioritize security and religious freedom, emphasizing that no faith group should be made to suffer for their beliefs.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the military or police authorities regarding the allegations, though the video posted by Rev. Dachomo has continued to circulate widely across social media, drawing tears, prayers, and condemnation from all quarters.
