But in a painful twist, young Ebiyai could not understand her father’s deep love and the sacrifices behind his strictness. Overwhelmed by shame and anger, she drank poison.

Within moments, her promising life was cut short. Cries of sorrow filled Okoroma-Ama. The once-proud Chief Pereowei, who only sought the best for his daughter, broke down in tears. The community mourned, the school was thrown into confusion, and mothers held their children close in fear of such tragedy repeating itself.
