💫 Historic Love in Uniform: AIG Patrick & AIG Yetunde Longe – Nigeria Police Force’s Power Couple 💫

In the long and colorful history of the Nigeria Police Force, there has never been a story quite like that of Patrick Kehinde Longe and Yetunde Longe — the first senior-ranking husband-and-wife duo to rise through the force together.

Their journey began in Kano, when two young police recruits in the late 80s spotted something stronger than just “discipline and parade drills.” Cupid fired his shot in uniform, and by 1990, Patrick and Yetunde tied the knot. That marriage was not only a union of love, but also a partnership in service, duty, and… occasional “orderly arguments” about who wore the rank better!

Fast forward to 2022, and destiny handed them another historic milestone: both were appointed Commissioners of Police on the same day! Imagine the household that evening:

• Patrick: “Honey, I’m now a CP.”

• Yetunde: “Congratulations dear… oh, by the way, I’m also a CP!”
  Even the kids must have asked: “So who do we salute first at breakfast?”

Patrick retired honorably as Commissioner in 2023, and Yetunde went even further, bowing out as an Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in 2024. What a record — not only did they serve Nigeria diligently, they also showed that love, teamwork, and dedication can stand tall even in a uniform as tough as the police.

😂 Humor aside, the moral lesson here is powerful:
👉 Marriage is not a competition, it’s a partnership.
👉 Success is sweeter when shared.
👉 And when two people support each other — at home and in their careers — they can make history together.
