Agadagba Hosts Ijaw Residents of Yenagoa in Royal Audience

In a profound act of reverence and unity, a distinguished delegation of Arogbo-Ijaw indigenes resident in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, paid a royal courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, Pere Zacchaeus Doubra Egbunu Esq., JP, FCAI, LL.M – Opukutu III, the Paramount Ruler and Agadagba of Arogbo-Ijaw Ibe (Kingdom).

The visit, held at the monarch's temporary residence in Yenagoa, was aimed at reaffirming loyalty, strengthening communal bonds, and promoting meaningful dialogue between the Kingdom and her sons and daughters living outside the homeland.

Led by Respected Community Chiefs

The delegation was gracefully led by High Chief (Engr.) Emmanuel Egbekun, the Pere-atoru of Arogbo-Ijaws residing in Yenagoa, accompanied by several notable personalities who came to pay homage and seek royal blessings.

The guests observed Ijaw traditional rites of greeting and loyalty as they humbly paid their respects to His Imperial Majesty, showcasing the richness of the culture and unity of the people in the diaspora.

His Majesty was flanked by a strong royal team, which included:

The Agadagba, in his royal address, emphasized the importance of upholding Ijaw heritage, fostering brotherhood, and maintaining peaceful coexistence within host communities. He further urged his subjects to remain shining ambassadors of Arogbo-Ijaw Ibe and to always uphold the Kingdom’s proud legacies wherever they dwell.

Royal Blessings and Gratitude

His Majesty offered heartfelt prayers and royal blessings to the visitors, charging them to remain united and focused on the development of the Arogbo-Ijaw Kingdom. The delegation, visibly honored, expressed their profound gratitude for the warm reception and the King's fatherly wisdom.

As the brief but memorable gathering came to an end, spirits were lifted, and a renewed sense of pride in their cultural identity was reignited among the visiting Ijaw residents of Yenagoa.
