Ondo Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Assures Ese-Odo Youths of Government Inclusion
The Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Ondo State, Hon. Segun Henry Omoyofunmi, fondly called “IBB of Our Time”, has been praised for his exemplary leadership, youth-driven vision, and commitment to inclusive governance in the state.
This commendation was made by Apostle Mogul Gabai Ebimiyen, Chairman of the Ese-Odo Youth Council (EYC), following a courtesy visit to the commissioner’s office in Akure on Thursday, August 1, 2025. The visit was marked by cordial discussions and mutual encouragement on how to advance the interests of youths in Ondo State, particularly from the Ese-Odo axis.
A Meeting of Purpose and Vision
According to Apostle Gabai, the meeting was not only engaging but spiritually and intellectually refreshing. The commissioner was described as a “political David of our time”—a reference to his youthfulness, fear of God, and natural wisdom. The conversation reportedly touched on critical areas such as youth empowerment, sports infrastructure, talent development, and inclusive representation of local government areas in state decision-making.
“From the moment I walked into his office, I was warmly received with sincerity,” Apostle Gabai said. “It was clear to me beyond human reasoning that Hon. Omoyofunmi has a deep, divinely inspired passion for the development of Ondo youths.”
Commendation to Governor Aiyedatiwa
Apostle Gabai also extended heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for appointing a competent, honest, and dynamic youth ambassador to lead the Youth and Sports Development ministry. He described the appointment as one of the most thoughtful decisions of the governor’s administration.
“Mr. Governor has demonstrated good judgment by putting the right man in the right position. Hon. Omoyofunmi is not just wearing the cap; he fits it perfectly,” he stated.
Trust in Leadership and the Future
Speaking on behalf of the Ese-Odo Youth Council, Apostle Gabai reaffirmed the group’s confidence in the commissioner’s leadership. He expressed optimism that, under Hon. Omoyofunmi’s tenure, the dividends of democracy would reach all corners of the state, including marginalized communities in the riverine areas.
He emphasized that young people in Ese-Odo and other coastal regions are ready to support the government’s efforts and contribute meaningfully to the state’s growth, provided they are engaged and empowered.
Call for Continued Collaboration
The EYC Chairman called for sustained collaboration between government agencies, traditional institutions, and grassroots youth leaders to ensure that all development programs are implemented with fairness and transparency. He further encouraged youths across the state to remain united, proactive, and vigilant in supporting good governance initiatives.
“We believe in Hon. Segun Henry Omoyofunmi’s leadership. We are ready to work with him and the state government to ensure that no youth is left behind in Ondo’s development story,” Apostle Gabai concluded.
This declaration marks a promising chapter in youth-government engagement in Ondo State, with the assurance that inclusion, transparency, and transformation will continue to drive the administration’s youth-focused agenda.
