Benin City, Nigeria (24th August, 2025) – The National President of the Niger Delta Progressive Youth Leadership Forum (ND-PYLF), Chief Diplomat Amb. Adam E. O. O. Marbo, popularly known as the Voice of the Voiceless, has issued a passionate appeal to the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, urging urgent intervention in the abandoned Udo-Ofunama Road Project.

📌 Egbema Kingdom Left Behind

In his statement, Amb. Marbo lamented the longstanding neglect of Egbema Kingdom, an oil-producing region that straddles Delta and Edo States, by successive administrations of the Delta State Government, Edo State Government, and the Federal Government of Nigeria.

He stressed that despite its significant contribution to the nation’s oil wealth, Egbema Kingdom has suffered critical infrastructural neglect, with the abandoned Udo-Ofunama Road Project standing as a symbol of this injustice.

“It is very important to state categorically that Egbema Kingdom, an oil-producing Kingdom in Delta/Edo State, has been abandoned for critical infrastructural projects. The Udo-Ofunama road is majorly connected to various communities and towns in Egbema Kingdom. Its completion will greatly improve the economic viability and living standards of our people,” Amb. Marbo said.

📢 Direct Appeal to Leaders

The ND-PYLF President used the medium to call on:

to treat the road project as a matter of urgency and take decisive action to safeguard the welfare of the people of Egbema Kingdom.

He specifically appealed to Dr. Ogbuku, describing him as a “brother” to the Niger Delta people, to re-award the Udo-Ofunama road project to a competent contractor capable of completing the work within record time.

“Our brother Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, MD NDDC, should do something about the abandoned Udo-Ofunama Road Project to improve the economic viability and living standards of the people of Egbema. He should re-award the contract to a competent vendor, so that the people of Egbema Kingdom will remember his administration with gratitude,” Amb. Marbo emphasized.
