Oborevwori Spreading Development Equitably Across Delta – Oghenesivbe
Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has thrown his weight behind Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s leadership style, affirming that the current administration is committed to equity, fairness, and balanced infrastructural development across the three senatorial districts of the state.
Speaking on a public affairs radio program monitored in Asaba on Sunday, Dr. Oghenesivbe noted that although Deltans have the right to demand development in their various communities, such requests should not always come through criticism or aggressive social media agitation. Instead, he encouraged citizens to channel their demands through their elected representatives and appointees in government.
He pointed to the recent approval of over N200 billion by Governor Oborevwori for various developmental projects as evidence of the administration’s sincere desire to govern fairly. These funds are being deployed across all senatorial districts to deliver flyovers, pedestrian bridges, road dualizations, and numerous youth and women empowerment initiatives.
“Let’s be clear,” Oghenesivbe said, “Governor Oborevwori is not a sectional leader. He’s here to serve all Deltans, and what he has accomplished in just two years clearly shows that he came prepared with a strong vision and unwavering commitment to inclusive governance.”
Equity, Not Favouritism
Oghenesivbe emphasized that no senatorial district has been marginalized under the current administration. He cited recent mega projects in Agbor (Delta North) and Ughelli (Delta Central) as indicators of the government's commitment to balanced development, while assuring that other regions will also benefit from similar infrastructure in the coming months.
“You can’t argue with facts. Projects are ongoing in all LGAs, and Oborevwori has remained consistent in his policy of balance and inclusiveness,” he added.
Stay Patient, Progress is Ongoing
While acknowledging that demands for more empowerment and infrastructure are legitimate, the DG urged Deltans to remain patient and allow the implementation of the MORE Agenda to unfold fully. He reiterated the governor’s vision of extending prosperity and economic growth until the end of his administration in May 2023 – May 2031.
He assured that Governor Oborevwori’s dealings are marked by transparency, competence, and a deliberate policy of detribalized governance, pledging that every segment of the state will continue to receive fair treatment in both appointments and project executions.
“Sheriff Oborevwori is not just building roads and bridges; he’s building trust, equity, and unity,” Oghenesivbe concluded.
