By Prince Agbedeyi Odimientimi Desmond
Warri, Delta State — In a resolute show of solidarity, the Niger Delta Youth For Good Governance (NDYFGG) has thrown its full weight behind the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Burtu Otuaro, describing his leadership as visionary, accountable, and people-centered.
Stakeholders Rally Behind Otuaro
During a well-attended stakeholders' meeting held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, in Warri, Delta State, the group, led by Comrade Lucky O.O Ukueku, reaffirmed their confidence in Dr. Otuaro’s stewardship of the PAP. Ukueku, a respected Niger Delta voice and former National President of the National Association of Presidential Amnesty Scholarship Students Worldwide (NAPASW), hailed the timely payment of stipends, strategic student deployments, and the administrator's consistent engagement with grassroots and regional leaders as signs of credible leadership.
Protests Condemned as Self-Serving
In a sharp rebuke, Comrade Ukueku condemned recent protests aimed at discrediting Dr. Otuaro, describing the dissenters as individuals motivated by personal gain rather than genuine concern for the Niger Delta. "The PAP is a national program with clear objectives—not a platform for political settlement or selfish agitations," Ukueku stated emphatically. He added that Dr. Otuaro's leadership has remained within the boundaries of legality, transparency, and fairness.
Unity and Support Urged from Presidency and Stakeholders
The NDYFGG stakeholders called on the Presidency, National Security Adviser, and relevant agencies to throw their support behind Dr. Otuaro, cautioning against any form of political distraction or media blackmail. According to Ukueku, “The focus now should be development, peace-building, and delivering the goals of the amnesty program—not sowing seeds of discord.”
Gratitude to the Federal Government
The group also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for increasing the PAP budget—a move they believe will further enable Dr. Otuaro to execute his responsibilities more effectively. They urged all Niger Delta leaders and stakeholders to set aside personal interests and work collectively to empower ex-agitators and sustain peace in the region.
A Renewed Commitment
In conclusion, NDYFGG reaffirmed its unwavering support for Dr. Dennis Burtu Otuaro and the PAP, emphasizing that the Niger Delta’s future rests on strategic partnerships, unity of purpose, and credible leadership. They pledged to resist any attempt to destabilize the progress already recorded under Dr. Otuaro’s administration.
“We must rise above politics and unite for the good of our people,” Ukueku stated. “Now is the time to work—not to protest. We stand firmly with Dr. Otuaro.”
