Ward Delineation Crisis: Mamamu Reaffirms Ugbanabou's Allegiance to Ogbe-Ijoh Kingdom, Blasts Alex Ebi-Feminine, Others for Misleading Claims

A prominent Ijaw leader and voice of historical justice, Chief (Comrade) Bené Youkore Mamamu, has restated in strong terms that Ugbanabou Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State remains an undisputed part of the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom.

In a strongly-worded statement made available to journalists on Saturday, Chief Mamamu condemned what he described as a deliberate attempt to distort historical truth and incite unrest, particularly targeting the Chairman of Ugbanabou, Alex Ebi-Feminine, and a self-styled Niger Delta youth leader from Diebiri, Arerepade Daniel.

"Only miscreants are disputing historical and documented evidence," Mamamu stated emphatically.

This reaffirmation follows a controversial publication where Arerepade Daniel, in defense of Alex Ebi-Feminine’s claims, stated that Ugbanabou belongs to Diebiri, a claim Mamamu described as baseless and provocative.

“The assertion that Ugbanabou is under Diebiri is not only unfounded but represents a gross distortion of historical and legal realities,” the veteran community leader declared.

He further challenged the proponents of the Diebiri claim to produce documented and verifiable historical proof rather than “childishly throwing tantrums” and issuing statements that threaten the fragile peace of the Niger Delta.

Chief Mamamu did not mince words as he warned that those instigating the falsehood could be agents of destabilization, potentially sponsored to ferment crisis between peace-loving communities.

“The tranquility of Diebiri is being endangered by Alex Ebi-Feminine, Arerepade Daniel, and other illegal claimants who are clearly driven by mischief,” he stated.

Calling on relevant authorities, Chief Mamamu urged the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to investigate these inflammatory claims and arrest any plots to create communal tension in Warri South-West.

He noted with concern that even the leadership of Diebiri Kingdom has not endorsed these divisive statements, making the motivations of these actors even more suspicious.

“In a tightly knit community like Diebiri, such unsubstantiated claims can rupture decades of coexistence, trust, and regional collaboration. We must avoid fueling unnecessary conflict.”

Chief Mamamu concluded by asserting that Ugbanabou has always been, and remains, an integral part of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, with overwhelming historical records, community consensus, and legal documents affirming this position.
