Governor Oborevwori Honoured as Grand Patron of Ibori Golf Club in Celebration of 62nd Birthday

ASABA, Nigeria – In a dignified evening of sport, celebration, and statesmanship, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State was yesterday conferred with the esteemed title of Grand Patron of the Ibori Golf and Country Club, Asaba. The recognition came during a prestigious dinner ceremony marking the close of the 2025 Governor’s Invitational Golf Tournament, which was held in honour of the Governor’s 62nd birthday.
The atmosphere at the event was elegant, bringing together distinguished guests, sports enthusiasts, government officials, and captains of industry who came to honour a man whose leadership continues to inspire progress in Delta State. The Governor was visibly moved by the gesture, as he warmly appreciated the club’s recognition of his leadership and support for sports development.
In his remarks, Governor Oborevwori thanked the club’s management and tournament organisers for the honour bestowed upon him. He also lauded the sponsors and coordinators for the smooth execution of the event, which he described as a significant boost to Delta’s growing reputation in the area of sports tourism.
